Mohammad Joynul Abedin ("we", "us", or "our") provides Dish Detective. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app. It is written for users in Bangladesh.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in with Google, Apple, or email.
- Profile information: sex, age, height, weight, activity level, and nutrition goal.
- Meal information: meal photos, the meals you log, and nutrition estimates created from them.
- NutrAI conversations and memory: messages you send to NutrAI and facts you choose to share that it may remember to make later conversations more useful.
- App analytics: information about how the app is used. Dish Detective includes Firebase Analytics.
Why we use information
We use your information to create and secure your account, personalize calorie and nutrition estimates, display your diary and progress, answer your questions through NutrAI, maintain useful coach memory, improve reliability and features, and understand aggregate app use. We do not show ads and do not sell your personal information.
AI processing and nutrition estimates
When you ask NutrAI a question, diary summaries and chat text may be sent through our server to NVIDIA-hosted AI models so they can generate an answer. Meal photos and related information may also be processed through our server to create nutrition estimates. Do not include information you do not want processed for these features.
NutrAI answers and nutrition estimates are automated estimates. They can be wrong and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use them as the only basis for health, diet, allergy, medication, or emergency decisions.
Meal reminders
If you turn on meal reminders, the app schedules three notifications on your device. They are created locally; no reminder data is sent to us. You can turn them off in Settings or in your phone's notification settings.
Where information is stored and processed
We use Google Firebase for authentication, Firestore data, and analytics. We use Cloudflare services, including Cloudflare R2 and our Worker, to store and process meal photos and to connect the app to AI services. NVIDIA-hosted models process the content sent through our server to answer AI requests. These providers may process information where they and their service providers operate.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, profile, diary, meal-photo, chat, and coach-memory information while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can delete your account in the app at Settings → Delete account, or request deletion without opening the app at https://ai-dish-detector.web.app/delete-account. Deleting an account removes the account and associated profile, meal records, meal photos, chat messages, and NutrAI memory from our active systems, subject to limited time needed for backups, security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Aggregated or de-identified analytics may remain because it cannot reasonably identify you.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update profile information in the app and choose what you share with NutrAI. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. To make a request, contact us at joynulabedin.dev@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Children and teens
Dish Detective is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us at joynulabedin.dev@gmail.com. If you are under 18, use the app with a parent, guardian, or other trusted adult's guidance, especially before making health or diet changes.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, including authenticated account access and service-provider security controls, to protect information. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or our practices change. We will post the updated version in the app and change the effective date. Please review it periodically.
